There’s set to be major change at Everton over the next month or so.
The Friedkin Group should complete their Everton takeover next week, purchasing Farhad Moshiri’s majority stake in the club.
The American investors are expected to make big changes in the dugout and in the boardroom.
Everton News have exclusively reported that the Friedkins are eyeing Dan Ashworth to replace Kevin Thelwell whilst Sean Dyche is also expected to depart in the new year.
Ashworth recently left Manchester United after an unsuccessful five-month stint but his body of work at Newcastle and Brighton is really impressive.
So, if he is to join Everton, here are the three players he could sign from Brighton.
Three Brighton players who Dan Ashworth could sign at Everton
Tariq Lamptey
Everton have been linked to Tariq Lamptey in recent weeks as they search for a long-term successor to Seamus Coleman.
Ashworth was the one who brought the jet-heeled right-back to Brighton, so he could sign him for a second time at Goodison Park.
Lamptey is out of contract in 2025 and could be available for a discounted fee this winter.
Evan Ferguson
Brighton have made Evan Ferguson available for loan this winter and with Everton’s current forward issues, surely they’ll make an approach for him.
Ashworth was again responsible for signing Ferguson on the South Coast, so he could use his good connections with the club the Seagulls to agree a six-month loan.
Julio Enciso
Enciso is keen to leave Brighton this winter due to a lack of game time, though, it’s understood he wants to remain in the Premier League.
If Everton were to land his signature, it’d allow Iliman Ndiaye to operate in a more central role – where he’s best – with the Paraguayan plying his trade on the left wing.
Enciso was nominated for the Puskas Award last year, thanks to his wonder strike against Manchester City.
