Texas A&M has landed yet another large win on the recruiting trail after it scored a commitment from 4-star wide receiver Madden Williams for the Class of 2026. For Williams, a large part of it comes down to comfortability and familiarity within the system as he makes the jump from the high school level to the college level.
“They saw it. We all felt it. My parents saw how I interacted with the coaches, how they really are into me and how I got along with the players,” he said in an interview with On3 Sports. “They knew it was home and the place for me just like I did. We saw it all together. I am comfortable there. They felt that too.”
For Williams, it came down to more than just the coaching staff.
“The staff and the environment are it for me,” Williams continued in the interview. “They see the potential in me and I get to work with coach Wiggins. He has a great résumé, he knows how to develop players and he is ready to work with me. I know he will get the best out of me.”
Williams was originally a highly touted recruit with a multitude of offers from the likes of Arizona State, Oregon, Penn State and a host of others. But, at the end of the day, he chose to elect for Texas A&M. That should prove to be the right choice overall as he joins Mike Elko and the Aggies.
