The Pittsburgh Steelers are set to play in their home opener on Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers. Both sides will enter the matchup undefeated as they look to get ahead in the competitive AFC. Leading up to the matchup, both sides have released their injury reports from their Thursday practices. Each team had multiple crucial players show up on their reports, but, more importantly, they also both had their starting quarterbacks on their reports. For the Steelers, things haven’t changed much since Week 1, as quarterback Russell Wilson is still limited in practice as he recovers from a calf injury. At the moment, Justin Fields is set to start for the third straight week. If Fields were to put together another strong performance, and most importantly, a win, he could earn himself the starting job before Wilson even comes back.
The Chargers, on the other hand, are dealing with a new issue as quarterback Justin Herbert nurses an ankle injury. While Herbert missed Wednesday’s practice, he did return and was limited on Thursday. At the moment, it seems as though Herbert will be good to go for the crucial game on Sunday.
Elsewhere on the injury reports, tight end MyCole Pruitt and guard Isaac Seumalo have missed both practices on Wednesday and Thursday for Pittsburgh. Meanwhile, wide receiver Joshua Palmer, and linebackers Bud Dupree and Junior Colson all missed practice for the Chargers
Currently, neither team has ruled out anybody as the practice week continues. The Steelers host the Chargers at 1 P.M. EST on Sunday
