Industrial Buildings Damaged, Apartment Complexes Affected
The drones targeted industrial buildings, setting five of them ablaze and damaging 11 apartment buildings in the process. The attack focused on the largest and oldest district of Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-largest city.

Ukrainian Air Force Defends Against Drone Attack
The Ukrainian air force reported that the second attack involved a total of 131 Russian drones, accompanied by two Iskander-M ballistic missiles. Air defenses successfully shot down 57 drones, while 45 others failed to reach their targets due to electronic countermeasures.

Regional Conflict Escalates
The reported attacks on Kharkiv occurred amidst escalating tensions in the region. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy claimed that Russia had launched over 1,000 drones at Ukrainian targets within the past week alone. Moscow countered that Ukraine conducted multiple drone attacks on Russian energy facilities over the same period.

International Response
President Zelenskyy emphasized the need for a “serious response” from Western allies to repeated Russian attacks on Ukrainian energy targets. He stressed that these strikes not only harm Ukrainian citizens but also undermine international efforts to end the war.

Ongoing Conflict
The situation remains volatile, with both sides accusing each other of violating a recent cease-fire deal brokered by the United States. As tensions continue to escalate, the international community remains vigilant, urging a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
