Report: Everton now close to signing £5m South American compared to Joelinton

Everton have enjoyed a small resurgence since David Moyes replaced Sean Dyche.

The Glaswegian has picked up from where he left off at Goodison Park after leaving to replace Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United back in 2013 – impressively steering Everton to six points out of nine from clashes against Aston Villa, Tottenham and Brighton.

It has given Everton some breathing space in the relegation battle – with seven points now separating them from the bottom three.

However, there is still work to be done before David Moyes takes Everton to the magical 40-point mark, and a new signing in Angelo Preciado is now set to help the Toffees stay in the Premier League.

Everton close to signing Angelo Preciado

A story from Tuttosport in Italy now states that Everton are close to bringing the Ecuador international to Goodison Park in a £5m deal.

TBR Football understand West Ham also like Preciado – although the Italian news outlet are now claiming that Everton are set to secure his signature.

The Sparta Prague No.17 has enjoyed a strong season on the right flank, registering three assists in 12 appearances, although the South American has missed the last eight Chance Liga outings with a meniscus injury.

FBREF – a data site – mention that Preciado is similar to Newcastle No.7 Joelinton, particularly excelling when it comes to driving forward with the ball.

David Moyes could offload Beto

It could be a case of one in, one out at Goodison Park before the February 3rd transfer deadline.

Tuttosport add that Moyes, who was hired ahead of Paulo Fonseca, does not view Beto as part of his plans, with Torino in talks to sign the Guinea-Bissau international.

That is despite the fact Dominic Calvert-Lewin suffered a worrying hamstring injury during Saturday’s 1-0 win over Brighton, so Kevin Thelwell could also look to sign a new striker in addition to Preciado.
