Ondo State: N3.2bn Gratuity Backlog To Retirees

The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Amidu Takuro, also expressed his appreciation to the governor over his genuine concern for the well-being of retirees in the state.

The Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Pensioners in Ondo State, Johnson Osunyemi, gave kudos to the administration of Governor Aiyedatiwa for remembering the retirees.

The payment is made up of N2.2 billion in gratuities to state civil service retirees and N1 billion in gratuities to local government retirees.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony held at the Cocoa Conference Hall of the Governor’s Office in Akure, Governor Aiyedatiwa reiterated that his administration will continue to prioritize the welfare of the senior citizens who have served the state diligently in the prime years.
