OXFORD — Ole Miss football coach Lane Kiffin pulled gems from the transfer portal last season when he assembled the No. 1 portal class. Now he gets a chance to mine the portal for 2025.
The transfer portal opened Monday. Kiffin and the Rebels staff can attempt to fill holes not addressed with the 2025 signing class. It’s a big opportunity to add experience and depth at key positions. The portal will close on Dec. 28.
Keep updated with the Rebels’ additions and departures through the Ole Miss football transfer portal tracker.
Here are five players in the transfer portal who could suit up for the Rebels next fall:
Luke Hasz, TE from Arkansas
Hasz would be a big addition to the Rebels’ tight end room, especially with Caden Prieskorn’s eligibility running out. He is a 6-foot-3, 241-pound tight end who just played his sophomore season at Arkansas.
Hasz caught 26 passes for 324 yards this season with the Razorbacks. He is the No. 2 tight end in the 247Sports transfer portal rankings.
Ole Miss offered Hasz when he was a four-star prospect out of Bixby High School in Oklahoma. On3 reported Hasz is expected to visit Ole Miss.
Ahmad Hardy, RB from ULM
The Rebels are almost certain to add a running back or two from the transfer portal. Hardy fits the bill. He was just named the Sun Belt Conference Football Freshman of the Year.
Hardy rushed for 1,351 yards for Louisiana-Monroe this season. He is No. 11 in rushing yards among all running backs this season and the No. 1 freshman.
On3 reported Hardy will visit Ole Miss.
Princewill Umanmielen, EDGE from Nebraska
There could still be a Umanmielen playing for the Rebels next season.
Star Ole Miss pass rusher Princely Umanmielen is expected to be an early pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. His younger brother, Princewill, could take his place on the Rebels’ defensive line.
Princewill is a 6-foot-5, 245-pound edge rusher. He played in every game for Nebraska this season, recording 13 tackles. He is the No. 1 transfer portal prospect.
247Sports reports Umanmielen will visit Ole Miss on Wednesday.
Jaylon Braxton, cornerback from Arkansas
Jaylon Braxton was supposed to have a big sophomore season at Arkansas this year. That didn’t materialize.
Braxton a 6-foot, 190-pound corner, was viewed as one of the Razorbacks’ best defensive backs. He got hurt in Week 2 against Oklahoma State. Braxton missed the rest of the season with a knee injury. He started several games for Arkansas as a true freshman in 2023. He is ranked as the No. 6 cornerback in the portal.
247Sports reported Braxton will visit Ole Miss.
Patrick Kutas, OL from Arkansas
Adding a veteran offensive lineman in the transfer portal is usually a safer alternative to relying on an incoming freshman to fill a spot.
Kutas would be a nice addition for the Rebels. He is a 6-foot-5, 313-pound interior offensive lineman. He returned from a back injury to start four games at left guard for Arkansas this season but was held out of the Razorbacks’ final game to preserve his redshirt status.
Kutas, has two years of eligibility remaining. He is the No. 3 lineman in the portal.
