The No. 8 Ohio State Buckeyes are headed into the quarterfinal round of the College Football Playoff, facing off against the No. 1 Oregon Ducks.
After dominating the Tennessee Volunteers 42-17 in the first round, Ohio State will have a rematch against Oregon. The two Big Ten programs previously went head-to-head in Week 7, with the Ducks defeating the Buckeyes 32-31. Ohio State is preparing for vengeance on its road to the national championship.
On Sunday, the Buckeyes posted a preview of the Rose Bowl, with a voiceover that said, “The granddaddy of them all, it’s the Rose Bowl game.”
“For all the roses,” the Ohio State Buckeyes’ official social media account captioned the post.
Ohio State heads into the matchup as a 2.5 point favorite, per ESPN BET, despite the previous loss to the Ducks. The Buckeyes are 11-2 on the season, having lost to the Ducks and the Michigan Wolverines.
After a first-round bye in the 12-team College Football Playoff, Oregon will look to advance to 14-0 on the season. Oregon currently stands at 13-0, having defeated No. 2 Ohio State, No. 20 Illinois and No. 3 Penn State. Ohio State and Oregon will face off on Jan. 1 at 5 p.m. ET.
