Authorities have identified the victims of the recent helicopter crash in the Hudson River, confirming the tragic loss of six lives. Among those killed were a Spanish family of five: Agustin Escobar, a 49-year-old Siemens executive; his wife, Mercè Camprubí Montal, 39, also employed by Siemens; and their children, Victor, 4, Mercedes, 8, and Agustin, 10. The family was in New York City for a sightseeing tour, a birthday celebration for one of the children, and to celebrate Mercé’s 40th birthday. The pilot, 36-year-old Seankese Johnson, a U.S. Navy veteran and commercial pilot, also perished in the crash. The helicopter, engaged in a tour flight, crashed into the river, and the National Transportation Safety Board is currently conducting an investigation to determine the cause. The family had taken pictures shortly before the flight.
