NCAA makes official ruling on proposed spring game between Colorado, Syracuse

Deion Sanders and Fran Brown proposed a historic spring game between Colorado and Syracuse, sparking a new idea in college football. However, the NCAA’s FBS Oversight Committee rejected the proposal, citing scheduling conflicts, academic concerns, and potential recruiting advantages.

Sanders initiated the idea on social media, suggesting a head-to-head matchup instead of a traditional intersquad scrimmage. Although the proposal was denied, Sanders expressed his desire to play spring games, potentially against other teams in the future.

The NCAA’s decision highlighted concerns about scheduling, academics, and recruiting fairness. Sanders’ innovative idea may not come to fruition this time, but it could inspire future changes in college football.
