In an exclusive interview, Sergio Perez has revealed that he has been in talks with “a few” teams regarding a potential return to Formula 1 in 2026.
Perez, who left Red Bull at the end of the 2024 season, emphasized that he would only consider a return if the project was one that truly motivated him and where he felt valued for his experience and abilities.
While he didn’t name all the teams he had spoken with, Perez did acknowledge that Cadillac, the new team set to join the F1 grid in 2026, was among the interested parties. He stated that there were “a few very interesting projects out there” and that he had been approached by teams since the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in December.
Perez indicated that he was taking his time to evaluate his options, having given himself six months to decide on the next step in his career. He stressed that his return would depend on finding a project that “makes sense” and that he could genuinely enjoy.
