Comparing Laver Cup prize money to what players earn at Grand Slams ft. Carlos Alcaraz, Frances Tiafoe, Ben Shelton

As the Laver Cup 2024 looms, big players worldwide are gearing up to represent their teams. From Carlos Alcaraz to Taylor Fritz, this year’s Grand Slam finalists will also be competing in the Laver Cup. The total prize pool for the Laver Cup is $2,250,000, with the winning team receiving $250,000 and the losing side receiving $125,000.

Having said that, let’s take a look at the Grand Slam earnings of some of the top players participating at this year’s Laver Cup. Carlos Alcaraz, the reigning French Open and Wimbledon champion, has amassed €2,400,000 and £2,700,000, respectively. He also reached the second round of the US Open, earning $140,000, and the quarterfinals of the Australian Open, earning A$6000,000.

Meanwhile, Frances Tiafoe‘s Grand Slam performance in 2024 was somewhat underwhelming. His best showing came at the US Open, where he reached the semifinals in front of his home crowd, earning $1,000,000. He also made the second round at Roland Garros and the Australian Open, winning €110,000 and A$180,000, respectively. At Wimbledon, he reached Round Three, earning £143,000.

As for Ben Shelton, he reached the third round at the US Open, French Open, and Australian Open. In these competitions, he earned $215,000, €158,000, and A$215,000, respectively. At Wimbledon, he advanced further to the Round of 16, earning £226,000.

Grigor Dimitrov, a late addition to the Laver Cup roster, had a decent Grand Slam season. He reached the quarterfinals of the US Open and Roland Garros, earning $520,000 and €415,000, respectively. At Wimbledon, he advanced to the Round of 16, earning £226,000. In the Australian Open, he played until the third round, earning A$255,000.
