Former Georgia QB Brock Vandagriff Announces retirement from football

The Brock Vandagriff era in Lexington has come to an end. The former 5-star, two-time national champion, Georgia Bulldogs transfer has opted to retire from football after one season at Kentucky. Jon Hale of the Lexington Herald-Leader broke the news first.

Vandagriff saw his starting spot go to Cutter Boley in the final game of the regular season, which did not signify much confidence in BVG returning for the 2025 season. But instead of entering the transfer portal and going elsewhere, he’s decided to call it a career.

BVG was brought in under former OC Liam Coen, being his hand-picked quarterback for Coen’s system. Coen then left shortly afterward to become the offensive coordinator for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, thus making Mark Stoops have to hire a fifth different offensive coordinator in the span of five seasons.

Vandagriff finishes his Kentucky tenure with 1,593 passing yards, 10 touchdowns, and eight interceptions. Vandagriff’s best game, without a doubt, was the massive upset win at Ole Miss, where he threw for 243 yards on 18/28 passing with one touchdown.
