Jahvon Quinerly, the talented point guard, has expressed his affection for the University of Alabama, stating that ‘Bama will always be home. This sentiment is especially meaningful as Alabama plays in his hometown.
Quinerly’s journey with Alabama has been remarkable, from being named the MVP of the SEC Tournament in 2021 to earning SEC Co-Sixth Man of the Year in 2023.¹ ² He initially started his college career at Villanova before transferring to Alabama, where he became an integral part of the team.
After spending four years at Alabama, Quinerly transferred to Memphis for his final season of eligibility. During his time at Alabama, he averaged 8.7 points and 3.6 assists per game, while shooting 40.2% from the floor and 35.7% from beyond the arc.
Quinerly’s decision to return to Alabama for the 2022-2023 season was significant, as he had initially considered pursuing a professional career. However, after tearing his ACL in the NCAA Tournament, he chose to remain with the team and return from the injury.
Now, as Alabama plays in his hometown, Quinerly’s heartfelt statement serves as a testament to the strong bond he formed with the university and its community.
