Alabama basketball has lost a key player to the transfer portal. Forward Mouhamed Dioubate, who averaged 7.2 points and 5.9 rebounds per game, has decided to leave the team after two seasons. Coach Nate Oats praised Dioubate, saying he “exemplifies what we’re trying to build this program into”. Dioubate’s departure marks the second player from the 2024-25 roster to enter the transfer portal, following Naas Cunningham’s decision to transfer.
The transfer portal window is open until April 22, allowing Alabama time to strengthen its roster for the next season. The team will need to rebuild after losing key contributors, including Mark Sears, Grant Nelson, Cliff Omoruyi, and Chris Youngblood.
In an effort to bolster their roster, the Crimson Tide has already welcomed new additions. Noah Williamson, a 7-foot center from Bucknell, is joining the team. Williamson averaged 12.1 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 0.9 blocks per game. Another newcomer is Taylor Bol Bowen, a guard transferring from Florida State.
The Alabama basketball team will face a challenging task in rebuilding their roster, but with new additions and a focus on developing their young players, they are poised to make a strong comeback in the upcoming season. The team’s ability to adapt to these changes will be crucial in determining their success.
