Millwall goalkeeper Lukas Jensen has told the Danish media he’s committed to the Championship side long term.
The 25-year-old signed for Millwall during the last transfer window for a undisclosed fee and has established himself as the London club’s No.1.
Speaking to Tipsbladet, the Dane was asked about joining the Championship side and his thoughts about his first months at The Den.
Jensen said he will be happy to remain with the club for the remainder of his career as it’s a joy to play for them. He realises things can change in football, but he believes he’s in the right place.
“I have signed a long contract with Millwall, and I see my future at Millwall. If I am going to spend the rest of my career in Millwall, I will also be happy about it. They have invested in me as a goalkeeper, and I am really happy about that. They can take me to new heights. They want to buy younger players and sell them on. You never know what the future holds,” said the Millwall keeper.
He went on to say the fans have impressed him since his arrival and that they are always supportive when the team gives them reason to be so.
“Millwall is a club that has a lot of history and a lot of passionate fans, and you just have to get used to that. I think these are some of the best fans because they show emotion. You’re told when you’re playing badly, but when you’re playing well, you’re always backed by them. I couldn’t ask for more,” said the Dane.
The Danish goalkeeper came through the FC Helsingør youth system and after a few seasons in the lowers leagues of English football he got his move from Lincoln City to Millwall during the last transfer window.
Jensen has been one of Millwall’s standout players this season and only Leeds United’s Ilan Meslier has more clean sheets in the Championship.
Since signing for Millwall, Jensen has made 29 appearances and is contracted to the club on a long-term deal.
