Former South Alabama cornerback Jordan Scruggs commits to WVU football

Rich Rodriguez picked up his first transfer portal commitment Sunday when former South Alabama cornerback Jordan Scruggs announced his intention to join the Mountaineers in a social media post.

West Virginia will be Scruggs’ fourth school in as many years. He played Division II ball at Washburn and Central Missouri before he spent a season playing junior college football at Hutchinson Community College in 2023. He made the jump to Division I last year at South Alabama, where he tallied 70 total tackles, an interception and two pass breakups.

He is listed as a 5-foot-11-inch, 176-pound defensive back on the South Alabama website.
