JJ McCarthy Sends 4-Word Message on Proposed Felony Flag Planting Law in Ohio

The Ohio State vs. Michigan rivalry has reached a fever pitch in recent weeks amid Michigan’s shocking upset victory in Columbus on Saturday, Nov. 30.

The Wolverines’ decision to plant their ‘Block M’ flag at center field in Ohio Stadium has left many Buckeyes players, fans, and even lawmakers salty, judging by recent events.

One proposed law would make planting a flag in Ohio Stadium a felony. The development appeared to surprise national championship winning quarterback and former Wolverine JJ McCarthy, who took to his Instagram account to share his thoughts on the matter.

“We did it boys,” McCarthy said on Instagram with a laughing and crying face emoji just before deleting it.

McCarthy’s Wolverines also planted the flag after their 45-23 win in Columbus over the Buckeyes on Nov. 26, 2022, a game that most major college football TV analysts picked them to lose, similar to this November’s game.

The Wolverines have now won four straight against the Buckeyes, most recently by a score of 13-10 with walk-on quarterback Davis Warren at the controls of since departed offensive coordinator Kirk Campbell’s unit.

The Wolverines have since brought in former North Carolina and Auburn Tigers OC Chip Lindsey to run their offense after ranking in the 100s among all college football teams this past season in total yardage per game with just over 294 yards per game.
