COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State will have a massive visit on hand this weekend, as five-star offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell will visit campus, he announced on Monday.
The 2026 tackle is the No. 1 overall prospect in the class, as just about every program in the country is after the Nixa, Missouri, product. Cantwell will come to Columbus as part of a swing that will include a Michigan visit on Dec. 15, a day after his trip to Ohio State.
Clearly, Cantwell is one of the top prospects for Ohio State in the 2026 cycle. Both of his parents were former Olympic throwers, and at 6-foot-7 and 300 pounds, Cantwell is as close to a college-ready tackle as high schoolers come.
The Buckeyes, though, will have an uphill battle to land him.
After landing just three offensive linemen in the 2025 class, Ohio State will need a big effort in the following year’s class. That can start with a bevy of talented Ohioans that litter the recruiting rankings, but Cantwell would be the best of them all.
Cantwell is set to trim his list in the near future, which means the Buckeyes will have to make a good impression upon him while they have the chance.
