Following the conclusion of the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series regular season, two insiders feel Legacy Motor Club fell short of expectations. The Athletic’s Jeff Gluck and Jordan Bianchi claimed that Legacy Motor Club was the 2024 season’s biggest letdown. According to Gluck, “the biggest disappointment would be like Leagcy,” on the podcast The Teardown. Bianchi concurred with Gluck, stating that the team has had difficulty the entire season and that he anticipated Erik Jones to be in the playoffs. Jones and John Hunter Nemechek are the full-time drivers for Legacy. Since neither of them won a race during the season, they were both eliminated from the playoffs. Nemechek finished in the top three this season, whereas Jones only managed one top-10 result. The team was founded in and is co-owned by Jimmie Johnson, Richard Petty, and Maury Gallagher.
