Liam Payne’s Sister Remembers Singer 6 Months After His Death: ‘Living Without You Is Impossible’

Ruth Gibbins, Liam Payne’s sister, marked six months since his passing with a heartfelt and emotional Instagram post. Gibbins expressed the immense grief she’s experiencing, writing, “6 months, half a year without you?! My head is still screaming for you. Each morning on waking, I feel like I am plunged underwater, gasping for air that never comes to relieve me. Living without you is impossible, so for now, I exist.” She’s struggling to cope with the loss, trying to find ways to navigate her life without her brother.

Gibbins shared that she’s learning to laugh and smile again, but it’s an exhausting process without Payne to talk to. Despite the pain, she believes her brother’s presence still lingers, often feeling like he’s guiding her back on track. She compared this sensation to the movie Ghost, where the character Sam Wheat continues to watch over his loved one even after passing away. Gibbins expressed that every memory of her brother is tinged with sadness, knowing they can’t create new ones. “I miss you loudly, quietly, and in all the moments in between,” she added, assuring Payne she’ll meet him in her dreams.

Payne’s family has been vocal about the impact of his death, particularly on his 7-year-old son Bear. Recently, they issued a statement criticizing tabloid coverage of the star’s death, saying it caused “indescribable, lasting damage” to the family. The family feels that the constant media attention and speculation have been hurtful and unnecessary.

Liam Payne passed away on October 16, 2024, after a fatal fall from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Toxicology reports later revealed that several substances were found in his system at the time of his death. Gibbins’ emotional post serves as a poignant reminder of the devastating impact of Payne’s passing on his loved ones.
