Auburn’s Bruce Pearl named chair of US Israel Education Association board: ‘I am deeply honored’

Auburn University men’s basketball coach Bruce Pearl has been named Chairman of the Board of Directors for the U.S. Israel Education Association (USIEA), a non-profit organization dedicated to educating and serving U.S. government leaders on the importance of the U.S.-Israel relationship. Pearl, who has been a vocal supporter of Israel and whose personal experiences in the country have been described as “transformative,” expressed deep honor in accepting the role. He believes he has a responsibility to contribute to the USIEA’s mission of fostering understanding and strengthening ties between the two nations. This appointment signifies Pearl’s commitment to promoting dialogue and education about the U.S.-Israel relationship at a crucial time. His involvement is expected to bring increased visibility to the USIEA and its goals. Pearl’s past actions, such as leading Auburn University to become the first Division I basketball team to play a professional Israeli team in 2022, demonstrate his dedication to building bridges between the United States and Israel. He has also been vocal about the current conflicts in the Middle East, further highlighting his commitment to the region. In his new role, Pearl will work to educate and inform government leaders, aiming to strengthen the understanding and relationship between the United States and Israel.
