NBA champion Kendrick Perkins has fired back at LeBron James over his recent comments on the media coverage of the league. Perkins, who won a championship with the Boston Celtics in 2008, took issue with James’ complaint that the coverage has “gotten away from the essence of the game of basketball.”

Perkins, appearing on “First Take,” let loose on James, saying, “He needs to stop. LeBron James needs to stop. I’m so sick of him with, ‘Oh, how the league is covered,’ because he wanted to be covered in a certain way that he wants it to be covered.”

Perkins, a self-proclaimed “big LeBron fan,” took umbrage with James’ assertion, stating, “Everything that comes out of LeBron James’ mouth ain’t the damn gospel.” Perkins also emphasized that the NBA is in a different era, and players need to adjust to the changing media landscape.

Perkins pointed out that NBA legends like Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, and Allen Iverson faced intense criticism during their playing careers, and today’s media is no different. “In today’s game, these players are so sensitive. So sensitive that it just don’t make any damn sense,” Perkins exclaimed.

Perkins also emphasized that players, when they enter the league, sign up for both the good and bad criticisms that come with it. His comments sparked a heated debate on social media, with some fans siding with Perkins and others defending James’ right to express his opinions.

The exchange between Perkins and James is the latest in a series of public disagreements between the two. Perkins has been an outspoken critic of James in the past, and their differing opinions have sparked a lively discussion among NBA fans and pundits.
