Bills’ Josh Allen Moves Into New QB Tier While Still Underrated

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen had a 2024 campaign to remember as he scooped the NFL MVP award after a stellar regular season.

While the Bills again fell short in the postseason at the hands of the Kansas City Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes, there was still plenty to be excited about for Bills Mafia.

Bills' Josh Allen Moves Into New QB Tier While Still Underrated

The offense under Joe Brady was explosive, with Allen reeling in his turnovers and becoming a machine of efficiency both in the air and on the ground en route to 40 total touchdowns and just 11 total turnovers.

Such was Allen’s year, he solidified himself as one of the NFL’s best. In Dan Pizzuta’s quarterback rankings list for the 33rd Team, Allen lands at No. 3, in the “Makes Life Easier” tier with Lamar Jackson and Patrick Mahomes.

“Allen’s presence alone sets a high floor, making it easier to build around him,” Pizzuta writes. “The Bills might be more likely to keep course and allow the young players to develop at receiver, but as we saw with the Amari Cooper trade, Buffalo is not averse to taking a swing at a potential No. 1 if available.”

The “everybody eats” mantra served Buffalo well in 2024, and they might double down, but in 2025, with Joe Brady, there is a need for the Bills to add some more bite on offense.

Whether that is for a player like Tee Higgins, who will be at the top of the free agency food chain, or maybe someone like Deebo Samuel, who might command less money, Allen could use another solid option in the passing game.

But wait a minute. Allen just won the MVP … but he’s still only third on this list? Can the MVP also be “underrated”?

Regardless, with No. 17, he makes life easier for the Bills, and whoever is on the field with him is taken up a level.

Bills Mafia hopes that maybe 2025 is the year the franchise finally breaks through that playoff ceiling.
